We are looking forward to hosting demonstrations by artist Pam Grimes (sister of our very own Robin Pickett) on March 16th at the gallery, from 4-7 pm.

Pam has lived with Multiple Sclerosis for 20+ years, but has never let it slow her down.  In her own words, ” I am not going to just sit here and roll over to it.  I’ve got things to do!”

Those things include making dry-embossed cards, to raise money and awareness for MS Research.  We hope you can join us on March 16th to meet Pam and join us for some fun and refreshments.

Also, Robin will be debuting her new MS – inspired Art Exhibit.  Highlighting the underlying cause of MS, the deterioration of the lining (the Myelin Sheath) surrounding nerves,  Robin new series is executed in stretched fabric in hoops, with 3-D patterns and images.  Come see how Robin’s unique perspective deals with a very serious subject.

We will kick-off our 2nd Annual “Super make-and-take Heart Days this Saturday, February 4 (yes, at the gallery at 654 Main Street), from 11 am – 6 pm.
Half of all Valentine proceeds, plus 10% of all store sales on Saturdays (Feb 4 & 11) will go to support the Lafayette Adult Resource Academy.  Prices range from $2 – $20, and you can ‘make and take’ your own, or buy an already finished item.

LARA serves Tippecanoe County and the surrounding area to support Adult Literacy (including GED prep), Job Skills development, and more!

Robin will be helping folks who prefer ‘warm & fuzzy’ to make lovely felted hearts, as pins, barettes, or just ‘warm lovelies!’

The porcelain hearts above can be dishes, key chains, magnets or pendant, and most can be personalized with a message from YOU!  Prices start at $2, and go up to $20 … you can paint and make one of your own, or select a finished one (adding just a personalized message.)
