Next up: Bolokada Conde at Gallery Walk May 11!

We are VERY Excited to be co-sponsoring Master African Drummer Bolokada Conde in May, along with band circAfrique and the Purdue Black Cultural Center.

An internationally acclaimed  master of Malinke rhythms and a master djembefola, Master Conde will play at Grateful Heart (free!) during Gallery Walk on May 11th, and will offer two workshops on Saturday, May 12th before appearing for one hour on the Main Stage at “Mosey Down Main.”

Backup for Master Conde will be provided by our very own Robin Pickett, her husband Sundeep Rao, and the other members of circAfrique!

For those of you interested in the Workshops …

The workshops will be held:
 Saturday, May 12th
at the Purdue Black Cultural Center
1100 Third St.  West Lafayette, IN
The Intermediate Class from 10am-2pm
Cost is $15
Enrollees need to know several West African rhythms on djembe and dunun
and be able to play tones and slaps.
The Beginners Class from 2pm-4pm
Cost is $15
No Experience required.
